Pdo thread facelift procedure

Initially your doctor will conduct a consultation session in which the photos will be taken to determine suitability for the non-surgical facelift treatment.

The area of skin will be numbed using either/both a topical cream or a local, injected anesthetic and the procedure will take between 30-60 minutes as the threads are inserted using a cannula or micro-needle depending on the individual’s requirements. There are no cuts or incisions required, minimizing any risk of scarring. An immediate lifting effect can be seen once the threads are inserted. But to see the complete effect of non-invasive facelift, it takes approximately 6 months as the body starts to generate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

1. What Areas can be Treated with the PDO Thread Lift?

The PDO lift can be used to enhance and improve the appearance of a sagging neck, sagging cheeks and jowls and droopy eyebrows. We can personalize your treatment to suit your exact needs and ensure you are totally happy with the results.

2. Who is a Thread Lift Suitable for?

A thread lift is suited to men and women between the ages of 35 and 70. The procedure is most effective on skin that has minimal sagging and offers the best results for cheeks, jowls, brows and the neck area. If you are looking for results that are more effective and long lasting than Botox and other fillers, then a thread lift is the ideal choice.

If you are put off by traditional surgery or don’t want general anesthetic, then a thread lift is great as it is minimally invasive and can be carried out under local anesthetic.

3. What are the Advantages of a Thread Lift?

The great thing about a thread lift is that it offers quick recovery together with excellent results.

This procedure requires a minimum amount of non-invasive surgery and leaves no scarring. Local anesthetic is all that is needed and there is no hospital stay either. Another good factor about the thread lift is that it is much more affordable than a regular face lift, and the results are long lasting.

If you are looking for a quick and effective solution to a range of aging problems then a thread lift is the perfect solution.

4. How does it work?

A thread lift is a type of face lift that is often referred to as the ‘lunch hour lift’. This is down to its simplicity and the time it takes to carry out the procedure.

A tiny entry will be made by the ear then fine threads are advanced along pre-marked contours.

The threads are made from polydioxanone (PDO) – the same material used for medical stitches – which dissolve naturally in the body over time.

Once the threads are in place, your body starts to produce new bundles of collagen around each thread and this in turn creates a subtle yet effective lift. The results differ for each person, but are very natural giving a rejuvenated and refreshed look. There is no scarring and recovery times are a lot less than those associated with traditional surgery.

5. What are the risks?

No surgical procedure is without risk, but the level of risk is often down to the expertise and experience of the doctor carrying out your procedure. Thread lifts can cause minor side effects such as infection, bruising, swelling, tenderness, numbness and slight asymmetry.

6. How Long does a Thread Lift take?

A typical thread lift procedure takes as little as one hour, but it depends on the number of threads the doctor uses and the areas being treated.

7. What Happens after the Procedure?

After the procedure we will provide you with aftercare instructions to follow. Most patients experience some mild swelling and bruising, but this should settle quickly. Recovery time is usually less than one week, although strenuous exercise should be avoided for 2 to 3 weeks.

8. How Long do the results last?

A thread lift’s lasting power depends on the age of the patient at the time of procedure and how much sagging the thread lift has corrected. It should be noted that sagging will return over time, but many doctors report that the results last for anything between 2 and 3 years. To extend the results it is possible to have additional threads inserted and your doctor can advise you when this is required.
